Llegando a Santiago lo primero que hice fue ir a visitar a mi abuelo a la ciudad de Coquimbo, siete horas en bus hacia el norte. Pude verlo y conversar con él, estaba muy enfermo y murió a la semana siguiente, ocasión en que viajamos a su funeral y nos reunimos con toda la familia de los Ocaranza.

As soon as I arrived in Santiago I went to visit my grandfather to Coquimbo, seven hours in bus to the north. I was able to see him and talk to him, but he was very ill and died the next week. Then we travelled to his funeral and met the entire Ocaranza family.

Fabiola llegó sorpresivamente a una fiesta de sus amigos, en la que supuestamente iban a comunicarse por videoconferencia con ella (no sabían que estaba en Chile), ¡estaban muy contentos de verla!

Fabiola arrived by surpirise to a party of her friends, in which supposedly they were going to talk to her by videoconference (they didn't know she was in Chile), ¡they were very happy to see her!

Album: Machalí

Fuimos a visitar a mi papá y a conocer a su nueva familia en Machalí, un par de horas al sur de Santiago. Prepararon un almuerzo muy rico, fuimos al cerro con ellos y la pasamos muy bien juntos.

We went to visit my father and to met his new family in Machali, a couple of hours to the south of Santiago. They prepared a delicious lunch, then we went to the hill with them and had a great time together.

Album: San Vicente

Fuimos en masa a San Vicente, en el campo de la zona centro-sur de Chile, a la casa de los padres de Fabiola. Fueron días muy tranquilos y entretenidos, tomando vino junto a la chimenea :-)

We went in a large group to San Vicente, in the countryside in the center-south part of Chile, to Fabiola's parents house. We enjoyed very relaxed and fun days, having wine by the fireplace :-)

Album: La manga // The lot

"La Manga", un grupo de amigos muy queridos. Parafraseando al compositor Brasileño Vinicius de Moraes: "vivir fuera de tu país es bueno, pero es una mierda; vivir en tu país es una mierda, pero es bueno". Lo peor de estar lejos es no ver a familia y amigos con los que me gusta mucho estar.

"La Manga" (the lot), a group of very dear friends. Paraphrasing Brazilian composer Vinicius de Moraes: "living abroad is good, but it sucks; living in your own country sucks, but it's good". The worst of being far is not seeing family and friends, people I enjoy a lot being with.

Estas son algunas vistas de Santiago de Chile, me sorprendió que la ciudad se ve bastante más moderna y limpia que lo que yo recordaba, no sé si en un año y medio ha cambiado tanto (tal vez) o si en mi mente tendía a despreciarla por grande y fea (muy posiblemente)

These are some views from Santiago de Chile, I was surprised because the city looks much more modern and clean that what I remembered. I do not know if in a year and a half it has changed so much (maybe) or if in my mind I tended to despise it because it is too large and ugly (very likely)

Album: Mis amigos con hijos // My friends with kids

Varios de nuestros amigos ya tienen familia e hijos, fue interesante ver eso, por el momento nosotros no queremos ser padres y por lo mismo fue bonito contemplar que la vida de familia siendo joven también tiene muchas cosas positivas.

Several of our friends already have family and kids, it was interestring to see that, because for now we do not want to be parents, and therefore it was nice to see that having a family while being young also has many positive aspects.

Album: Mi madre // My mother

Mi mamá organizó su cumpleaños en casa, haciendo una gran comida con toda la familia. Me dio mucha pena despedirme de mi mamá, me gustó vivir este tiempo con ella.

My mother organized her birthday at home, having dinner with all the family. It was painful to say goodbye to her, I enjoyed living during this time with her.

"Adiós muchachos, compañeros de mi vida ... ". ¡Espero que pueda viajar de nuevo a Chile pronto!.

"Farewell boys, the partners of my life ..." (and old tango). ¡I look forward to my next visit to Chile!.
