El Nixie es un sistema para mostrar numeros, un tubo en el cual los numeros estan dibujados y van superpuestos, iluminandose el numero que se quiere mostrar; es bastante mas facil de leer que los segmentos de linea que se usaron despues pero mucho mas voluminoso y con un consumo de energia mucho mas alto.

The Nixie was a syste to show numbers, a vacuum tube in which the numbers were pre-drawn and they are superimposed, the number that one wants to show is illuminated; it is much easy to read that the displays based on line segments but it is much bulkier and has a energy consumption that is much higher.
