I&#8217;m not including scientific\/technical stuff, just everyday stuff; I&#8217;m also not including skills, manners, or basic things such as speaking or reading, which I owe to my parents \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The list is roughly in chronological order. Years are only approximate references, none of these lessons I learned overnight, but they all changed my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">5<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Books are wonderful<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Programming is fun<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Some people are idiots<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">God is a lie<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">10<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Science gives answers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Majority opinions mean nothing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Being different means being hurt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Everybody dies even the Sun<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">15<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Intelligence is not enough<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">A life worth living takes effort<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Planning saves money and trouble<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Lying is avoidable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Family brings great joys and great sorrows<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Romance is tragic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">20<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Romance doesn&#8217;t need to be tragic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Some drugs are great<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Syntactic correctness means nothing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Beautiful code is poetry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">25<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Being permanently unsatisfied is fine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Good deeds are punished all the time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Evil deeds are rewarded all the time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Copyright is bad for art<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Patents are bad for science<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Hard work can compensate lack of talent<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">30<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Physical exercise is necessary<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Nationalism is a form of hate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Immigration is treated as a crime<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Animals are people<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">35<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Money intensifies personalities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Men treat women unfairly everywhere<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">People are often wrong about each other<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Enlightenment is not a period but a process<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Billions are essentially slaves<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Everybody must be treated kindly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">40<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Thanks to all for your birthday greetings \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some things I&#8217;ve learned during my 40 years on Earth.
